Homeschool 3x3 Basketball Training
Building skill, confidence, and love for the game through 3x3 basketball.

The Homeschool 3x3 Basketball Training is a weekly, daytime basketball program designed specifically for homeschool students in grades 5–8. It was created for families who want something different from traditional leagues, high-pressure environments, or programs where kids spend more time standing than playing.

At 3on3 Live, we believe how kids experience basketball matters just as much as what they’re taught. That belief shapes everything about this program.

Why 3x3 Basketball?

The training is built entirely around 3x3 basketball — a small-sided version of the game played with three players per team.

3x3 isn’t a shortcut or a simplified version of basketball. It’s actually the official small-sided format used internationally and in the Olympic Games, designed to maximize engagement, decision-making, and skill development.

With fewer players on the court, kids naturally:

-
get more touches on the ball
-
make more real-time decisions
-
stay constantly involved in the action
-
learn spacing, teamwork, and movement faster

Instead of waiting in lines or standing on the perimeter, players are always part of the play. This makes 3x3 one of the most effective environments for developing basketball fundamentals — especially at the middle school level.

At 3on3 Live, 3x3 is the classroom.
The game itself does the teaching.

How Development Happens

Development in the Homeschool 3x3 Basketball Training happens through a balance of guided 3x3 games and purposeful drills.

Players work on core basketball fundamentals such as:

-
ball handling
-
shooting mechanics
-
passing and spacing
-
defensive positioning
-
decision-making under pressure

Rather than isolating skills for long periods, we connect fundamentals directly to live play so kids understand why skills matter and how to use them in real game situations.

Coaching is present, but not overbearing.
Instruction is intentional, but not constant.

Kids are encouraged to try, fail, adjust, and try again — without fear of being benched, embarrassed, or compared to others.

The Environment Matters
This is not a league.
This is not AAU.

There are:

-
no tryouts
-
no rankings
-
no yelling from the sidelines
-
no pressure to perform

The Homeschool 3x3 Basketball Training is intentionally:

-
development-first, not results-driven
-
confidence-centered, not comparison-based
-
joy-driven, not pressure-filled

We measure success by whether kids:

-
feel more confident than when they arrived
-
stay engaged and involved throughout the day
-
want to come back the next week

Basketball is the vehicle —
the environment is the difference.

Activities that build coordination, confidence, and readiness to play.

Players refuel, rest, and connect (bring your own lunch).

12:00 – 1:30
